Introduction

Butler Missouri Reenactment

At a reenactment of the battle of Butler, Missouri, troops carry the Missouri battleflag (a replica made by CSA Flags), which prominently reflects the Christian sympathies of the Confederate army. Among other things, the war was a clash of world views, the North holding the ideals of the Enlightenment (or better, the "Endarkenment") and the South maintaining the virtues and ideals of Christendom.

I have found a flag-maker that, with my exacting requirements, I can recommend. He makes flags, as I have done, on a commission basis only. I refer to Richard R. Gideon Flags at www.gideonflags.com. All contact information is on his website. Yes, he lives north of the Mason-Dixon, but he has mighty fine Virginian roots!

Due to my change in vocation to teaching, I must consider my flag-making business to have been shut down as of the beginning of this year. I will continue to maintain the website for the sake of those studying Confederate flags. If I start making flags again, I'll give notice on this website.
